THE CLIENT HANDBOOK

QUESTIONS / ANSWERS

SOME STRAIGHT
ANSWERS.

A good working relationship starts with knowing what to expect. Here are the things people ask us first.

01 THE FIRST CALL

What happens in the first conversation?

We ask about your situation, what you would like help with, and any timing considerations. We explain who would be best placed to advise and what the next steps could involve. You do not need to arrive with a finished plan.

02 FEES & SCOPE

How will I know what it will cost?

After understanding your matter, we would explain the proposed scope, the basis of our fees, and any anticipated additional costs. We would also discuss how changes to the work would be handled. You can ask questions before you decide to proceed.

03 YOUR ADVISER

Will I have a dedicated point of contact?

Yes. A named adviser would be responsible for your matter and for keeping you informed. If another member of the team needs to be involved, we explain their role and how the work fits together.

04 MEETING OPTIONS

Can we meet by video or telephone?

Choose a video call, telephone conversation, or an in-person meeting when you make your enquiry. In a real enquiry, the team would confirm a suitable time and any meeting arrangements with you.

05 JOINED-UP EXPERTISE

What if my matter involves several practice areas?

Start with the area that feels closest, or choose "I'm not sure yet" in the form. Your first conversation would help identify the different parts of the matter and the people who need to be involved.

06 GETTING STARTED

Does an enquiry mean you are acting for me?

No. An enquiry starts a conversation. Before accepting instructions, we would need to complete the necessary checks and agree the scope and terms of the work with you.

Your question is a little more personal?
